A. Summative Assessment: Group Presentation Project
1. INTRODUCTION
In the end of the unit topic, each student will work with his/her assigned group to build a group presentation that addresses and solves a real-life word problem about the multiplication or division of rational numbers. Through this group presentation assignment, the teacher can assess students’ levels of thinking based on the Bloom's taxonomy as the followings:

Through this group presentation assignment, the teacher can assess students’ levels of thinking based on the Bloom's taxonomy as the followings:
1) Creating: Students in each group design their own presentation on which they present a possible real-life word problem and a solution for the problem.
2) Analyzing: Students analyze the problem in order to solve it. 3) Applying : Students apply what they have learned and understood from the unit topic to solve the problem. 4) Evaluating: Students evaluate their solution. |

B. Entry-level Assessment: A Warm-up Digital Quiz
1. INTRODUCTION
The unit topic of multiplying and dividing of rational numbers will need the basic concepts of positive and negative rational numbers as well as the basic features of multiplication and division. So I have designed the quiz below for students to do in the beginning of the unit topic. The quiz is to assess two levels of students thinking: how students remember and understand what they have learned before. It helps students reconnect their prior knowledge to what they will continuously learn for the unit topic. It also helps me prepare my next lessons for student learning.
2. DIRECTION
In the beginning of the unit topic of multiplying and dividing rational numbers, student need to do the warm-up quiz that was embedded below. To do the quiz, students need to put their full name, period, and the answers for all questions on the quiz to get the full credit of 12 points. The quiz simply provides multiple choice questions; however, students need to have a full attention and a careful thought before choosing an answer. When completing those 6 questions, students need to click the “DONE” button in the bottom of the quiz to submit the quiz to me. I will see the quiz results with student names and periods on SurveyMonkey. Thank you and good luck!
