1. Introduction
A Webercise is a web-based learning activity. This Webercise below helps students use the Internet to review how to solve possible real-life word problems from their prior learning, incorporate what they learn about the multiplication and division of rational numbers in the unit topic, and prepare for their group presentation in the end of the unit topic.
Students will be assessed in the following high-order thinking skills: 1) reading comprehension of online information, 2) analysis of one word problem, 3) application of what they have learned (e.g. , the multiplication and division of negative and positive integers) to solve the problem, 4) evaluation for the problem's solution.
For the unit topic, the Webercise is in the transition between the multiplication/division of integers and the multiplication/division of fraction/decimal numbers. It also provides the hints about the steps that students should do for their group project in the end of the unit topic.
