1. Introduction
A choiceboard is a graphic organizer that offers a variety of activities for students to choose what to do. For our unit topic of multiplying and dividing rational numbers, I have designed the following choiceboard to provide one required activity for a group work and six optional activities for individual works. The choiceboard focuses on students’ interests of computer interaction and on their ability through their activity selection. Consequently, it gives students a flexible way of learning and promotes their learning interests.
In general, those activities are divided into several categories for student thinking levels: 1) analysis, 2) synthesis, and 3) reasoning with the technology support. For instance, students can analyze the relationship between multiplication and division, summarize the steps of solving word problems, or make reasons of how to solve the math problem. Especially, students will be encouraged for their collaboration through their group activity and for their independent thinking through individual works. Each activity will be linked to at least one lesson of the unit topic and will be used as homework or an in-class activity for students’ learning performance.

Please download, print and read the embedded Choiceboard below.
For this Choiceboard assignment of our unit topic, each student must do as the followings:
1. The required activity (a group work).
2. Two of 6 optional activities (individual works).
A group can have 2, 3, or 4 students. The group work is worth 70 points, and each of individual activities is worth 15 points. Follow the instruction of the activity you choose to get the full credit of 100 points. You can either write your answer on a separate sheet of paper or print out your work from the computer application as requested. Then you will attach your work to this assignment paper.
